both a pair of portables

its fustrating outside with all the noise and distractions and as you all know, my shp8900 are unsurprisingly unusable outside. i wrote on a previous post that i was planning on buying senns hd25-1 II, too bad i cant find any available so i another fustration. i searched through head-fi
and read about this philips shl9600, particularly someone said they're great cans particularly at the bass department, costing 3.5k, i just want to try. it does not hurt that much and so i bought a pair, doubtly, the last pair they had at that store. made me suspicious xD.

initial impressions.
wires not detachable, has a volume control(neat), swivels and folds, headband slide is some sturdy metal i dont care what, leather pads. and size is very portable. so visually looking at them, they are kind of good. and so tried listening through them, some daft punk songs, classical, jazz, and rock. bass are more impactful yet sometimes boomy veiling some detail. acoustic string instruments seems more natural but tend to roll off when instruments go clashing, classical are bad on these, obviously because this are targeted at DJs. mids are a bit lacking, particularly when listening on heavy distorted rock, they seem less distorted, or less weight. this are more an action headphone, and the shp8900 more laid back but suits well to alot more music than this pair of cans. isolation wise, they have a good passive isolation, just enough to reduce disturbing noise, for example, i can still hear the engine but not that annoying. the volume control is nifty moreso while traveling. comfort wise, coming from the shp8900, this is a lot worse, because first of all, this are supraaural na like the 8900 which are circumaural. clamp is strong enough not to move, i cant wear them for long periods of time, they really hurt, and the leather pads makes my ears sweat a lot..

overall, a good starting headphone to get used to supra aural.

Bought A new PC

specs:
ECS p45t-a
LG 19" LCT W1942T
Intel E8400
Palit 8600gt
2Gb ddr2 800 Corsair XMS2
250Gb Seagate HDD
LG CD/DVD Combo Drive.
Icute Game Case
HEC 500w Raptor
35k less than 800$

coming from an obsolete pc, p4 ddr 333 mx4000 17 inch crt. basically the pc you'll buy for your grandmother. this is a revelation, as far as gaming, multitasking, programming goes. and this is even called a budget pc. i waited long years of not being able to play games, tried hard to be content on snes and game boy advance emulators. but now, pure gaming goodness, well not pure as i cant crank my games to the highest settings, but this still is satisfying. i'm happy, and probably will last for another 5 years. yup, 5 years, my happiness is cheap.

these click ads to get paid sites & youtube sessions(blunty3000)

there were a surge of people reffering you to these sites that supposedly give you money when you click on an ad. i tried several of these sites and found them garbage as you earn something like a cent(USD) per ad, and you are limited on ads per day. earning money just didnt get more boring than this. Well on how they market these sites is just unbelievable, some even earning 1000$ or more a month. are they kidding me? when i only manage to make .2 cents, which costs me useless hours on clicking links. roar what a waste. and they say they manage to earn those big bucks through referrals. what a fustration. what do they expect? the only loophole i can see through the referral problem is to create a porno site and redirect them to those sites, or a site that is full of garbage ads reffering them to those sites. what a waste of time, bandwidth and traffic. but no i wont, cause i cant bother more than ranting on these PTC sites.

Youtube

Blunty
I stumbled on one of his videos one day while trashing my way to youtube. first impressions. He looks just like robert downey jr. Just less sexy(and not in any gay way conceivable). I got hooked at how he does things. his rants, game and gadget reviews, and his ultimate hate on things like the underwear song, he's just funny, like metaphorically funny. who am i talking about? Nate Burr, if you want to know more, watch Blunty3000 on youtube. You could try watching his vids on youtube, you'd be the judge.

A Bit Of Fry and Laurie
why hav'nt i heard of this show at the begginning of time? well obviously because i wasnt born yet when these aired, and cable and internet is still a distant tech by that time. Hosted by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie(more known on the show House), it is a plethora of comic skits reflecting the british humor and margarie xD. You'd expect me not to get there lines at all considering the age difference between me and the show, but no, there lines still deliver the best laughs i had, comparing them with our current shows like bubblegang. You must definitely watch these.

i wasnt an avid youtube user before, but then there are vids on youtube that make the tv so shameful, well atleast our local stations. entertainment just hasnt been so accessible until now(or atleast when youtube was born).

finally bought my first real headphones, not audiophilic, just real. the philips shp8900. this costs 4450php, bought from astrovision on sm north edsa last june, and within this time, this is properly burnt in good enough to be reviewed.

experience:

the packaging is good enough, sealed, big, and sturdy enough. it comes with a storage pouch(against the headphone stand from the previous models) and a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adaptor,
when i auditioned, i found them to have lots more detail, tighter bass, well ofcourse, everything is better if you're coming from a bundled iem from your mp3 player. i felt there is something lacking within this set of cans so burnt them in a mix of pink and white noise plus a frequency sweep. there are improvements, a feeling of veil is somehow uncovered but still lacking, mids feeling recessed but not as much as before burnt in, bass became tighter and less boomy, but the high sometimes hurts my ears depending on the song playing. built quality is rather cheap plastic (mine already had cracks on the left side of my headband, maybe quality control problems), this set of mine fell on about 1.5m for several times but it still is good. comfort is top notch, but the clamp is a little weak. when i try to move, they feel loose.

this is currently my first decent headphones so i cant compare them to cans reknowned by the audiophile community (grados, AT's, Senns, the lot...) but they seem a good quality can for the price. even tried wearing this publicly even if they were obviously huge, but it made a ruckus so i dont wear it anymore. current on the hunt for a closed portable headphone currently. eyeing on the senn hd 25-1 II. lots of great reviews, which i expect for the 300$ asking price. for the cheapskape, im considering on buying another philips can (shl 9600), or AT ES7.

but as of the nearer future, i'll buy kuya ferds mini3 headamp, read somewhere he has a new version of the mini3 so i might inquire on that.

as of now, happy audio moments.

*you may find this a very noob like review, but i admit, i am a noob xD

headphones! and a lot of other stuffs

I started venturing out on the world of head-fi when i bought a set of cans that costs about 2k php. it sounded amazing, bass was thumping, detail was great, but then, i thought that was it for headphones, then there i was window shopping on a mall then i cam across thos bose cans and tried them and man they were even better, positional audio was great, more crisp detail, bass was not thumping, but crisp but they cost about 9k and that was just too much way out of my budget, and so i started planning on saving up buying those cans and calculated that it would take about 6 months at best to save up 9k, and that includes sacrificing all the good food my itching taste buds would like T_T.

and so i researched through the internet and discovered the world of high-fi. boy there were plenty, and i got on a forum were all those that love cans go to, http://www.head-fi.org/. i got torn, so much cans reviewed were good that picking one was just hard to do, and so i got unto higher priced once, about the 12k range, then i narrowed my choices between a denon d2000 and audio-technica ad1000, then i started a thread asking for suggestions about the cans. it was funny that all of them had the bigger brothers of the two cans i was considering, and almost none of them had what i want. so they suggested on me saving up and going to the ad2000 which is about 22k, omg thats just mind blogging how i would save up to that, but i love cans in general, so i must have those.

then pondering about my 22k shelving of for a pair of cans, i could have bought 2 psp, a nintendo wii, ps3, a nice vid card+a nice lcd, an ipod touch+tons of cds T_T, oh the confusion, what should i do? but right now, im blinded on other better things to shelve my 22k off, if ever i save up that much money XD, to buying those ad2000. oh its so addicting just reading how they describe the sound coming out from those cans.

and oh on the buying part, i'd naturally go to ebay and see the prices, but thought that they may be used, and so much higher priced, so surfed on and found these japanese site, JapanPrice.com, and i just laughed on those prices, omg the price of ad2000 at the states cost around 800$ man that's a new pc for me, and on that jap site i was saying, the cans just cost around 500$, ho ho saving 300$, that's really big.

then one day, i told my siblings ill try to by these, and if ever i told you i'd buy these, i know your first reaction, ha?!, and tsk tsk tsk. of course that would be a shock, the cost of that cans i could have paid for my tuition for a semester, bought things i needed more, all kinds of stuff. but i had just fixed my mind into it so there's no one stopping me.

take a look at what that 22k is all about
audio-technica ad2000

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

on the other hand, my brother just bought a psp, if i can remember, our first and last console my parents bought was a ps1, and that just doesnt cut the fun anymore. well initially, my brother had just save 4k, omg a psp costs 11k at least(of course shoemart price added), how in the world would he get the outher 7k, then boom our relatives from the states gave us some bucks, what a saver, but not yet, that just amounted to another 4k, 8k in total, so we were still missing about 3k, then i remembered, i was saving already for that 22k of cans, and already had 3k, ooh that hurt, now im back to zero T_T

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

and about my venture on corel painter, im now studying the power of layers, and still cant get it to work properly, plus working on applying color on faces i doodle and they look like crap.

ironman live action started showing today here at the philippines and i'm torn unto buying mcdo and watching the movie, haha weird though, what to buy? food or movies, i cant choose both coz it would greatly compromise the other haha brilliant.

oh another story to tell, my brother is currently enjoying those super had metal rock bands that are like in ecstasy when they play, plus the drummer on tripple peds? i just cant imagine that, but what can i reason out when i hear those super fast beats, i just cant take my head of it. well i just cant stand the noise.

And so this Starts

as you can see i've just started of, basically i'll put everythin in here, and so to start of, i'll write about(a long pause, about an hour), i'm really in a big mess and i dont know what to do and i have no plans on telling on what kind of whoop ass problem i've got lols. Well for a clue, its about school stuff.
Ok, about the title of my blog, i was just playing the guitar and my mouth started throwing out lyrics, and you could just close your ears if you ever heard me, but the best part goes like this;

a woman in the dark side

it makes the boys go crying like the dull sky

i forgot the last time that i've seen the blue sky

and all that i see for now is a few hues of gray and white

a man in the shadows

covered with stench of just oh lady please forgive him

its just that everything has been all the same sin

that it turned to be something like a natural behavior

Oh boy, come with me and lets see the night for the last time

because tomorrow the world will hide its face from the sun

lets watch the stars against the pitch black sky
and let them shine like our forefathers had seen them shine

Oh girl, let no tremor shake your pure red velvet heart
and the heartbeat that connects you from those whom you love

let me tell you that there had been better days
but let this day be the best of them all
so lets watch the world go round for one last time

in one big panoramic view
and let its heart sing us a song in One Big Stereo

well yeah i know it sucks but i tried XD

I recently had been studying how to work around Corel Painter X, and yes its a fake copy, like any other program i have, damn even my OS is fake lols its the most natural thing to do in such a depressed country, and so if ever i have and international audience, even if its only you, whoever you are, i live in the philippines.

I'll post 2 pics of my works(all with the use of a mouse), i really need to buy a tablet, and yes a better pc too, the pc i'm currently working on renders for years lols.

yeah, they're nothing but backgrounds, im still in the learning phase
i'll try learning corel painter and adobe photoshop at the same time
well it started my curiosity on learning these apps when my brother
wanted to make a sig on a forum he was on, then i started on MS paint,
yeah i'm almost a master on that lols, but it looks crappy
well thats all for now, im currently watching matrix
hope to finish all three tonight hehe
everything that has a beginning has an end
